Welcome to the Kyūsho-jutsu Gokui (急所術極意 - Vital Point Secrets) website, which is also the home of the newly formed:
Nihon Kyūsho-jutsu Kenkyūkai (日本急所術研究会 - Japanese Vital Point Art Research Society).
Our aim is to further research and provide education into the deeper aspects of traditional Japanese vital points techniques (Kyūsho-jutsu).
We examine the inner secrets of traditional vital points fighting, by using the explanations provided by traditional teachings and modern medical science.
Using the rationale of western medical science to explain the effects of 'Kyūsho-jutsu' techniques (sometimes historically refered to as Sakkatsu-jutsu 殺活術 i.e. life and death method) is not new, but dates back to the early 19th century in Japan (see below):
Inoguchi Matsunosuke (井の口松之助), writing circa 1895 states that:
“About a hundred years ago (around the 1810's), any author who tried to write about (the Sakkatsu-jutsu ) had completely rejected and abandoned the classics and classical material content, preferring instead material based chiefly upon Western style autopsy dissections.”
